Karen Jenkins
Registered Nurse
Email: karen.jenkins@customcarenursing.co.nz
Hi, my name is Karen and I do assessments and care plans for Custom Care Nursing.
I have been a Registered Nurse for over 50 years, and much of this time was spent as a rural district nurse specialising in wound care, stoma care, peritoneal dialysis treatment, palliative care and diabetes. I was part of a small team which was instrumental in getting the IV service up and running in Christchurch so patients no longer needed to be admitted to hospitals for IV treatment.
I continue to work in aged care. I also work at Nova Trust in the specialised unit for drug addiction. I am still enjoying shifts at the Hospice so my life is varied and interesting. I am supported by a wonderful husband - we have been inseparable now for 56 years and celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in June 2022.
In my spare time I enjoy going for walks, swimming at the beach, having family dinners and BBQs.
