Hi, I’m Courtney and I joined Custom Care Nursing early February 2019. This is my first job in the health and disability sector and I am looking forward to learning new skills and helping our Clients receive the best possible care we can provide.

My nana and mum have worked in rest homes, and growing up I have seen how much of an impact they made to people’s lives and how much they appreciated their help. Everyone was treated like family and that made me realise I’d love to make a positive impact on people’s lives just like my mum and nana did.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to work for this amazing family orientated company. I am loving my new role as every day is different, I get to interact with different people across the whole of New Zealand. I like talking to our coordinators nationwide and figuring out ways to help make their day a bit easier so they can help provide the best service to their Clients while looking after their amazing Support Workers.

I am very family orientated. I love spending time with my family especially my niece and nephews.

I am very family orientated and love to spend time with my mokopuna. In the warmer weather I love to ride my E Bike. I also love going to Art Galleries with my hubby.

I have worked in the healthcare industry since 2001. Prior to my role at Custom Care Nursing, I worked as a House Coordinator where I managed a team of Support Workers looking after people with physical disabilities to live independently in the community. I have had roles as House Leader, Acting Coordinator and as a Support Worker so I feel I can really put myself in my Support Workers shoes. While I was working, I studied part time at Unitec where I did my Diploma in Business and Management.

In 2017 I decided to take up the opportunity as Auckland Regional Service Coordinator for Custom Care Nursing’s Return to Independence Clients. Since joining CCN I have learnt different strategies to ensure my team is working efficiently and within the company policies and procedures, including meeting new Clients and Support Workers, participating in the Client’s meetings and cares, and team building at Head Office.

I love working in the healthcare industry because I enjoy making differences in people’s life’s. I like ensuring my Clients needs are met and seeing a smile on their faces when I leave their homes.

In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, gardening, spending time with family and friends and watching movies on Netflix.

I have been in the nursing profession for nine years, nearly eight years of those in the Mental Health sector working in the crisis team and with acute and chronic Clients. I originally joined CCN for a break from Mental Health work and found I enjoyed the Support Work tremendously as this is where I started my journey into the Health Care Arena as a Health Care Assistant for a local rest home and CCS.

I started out working with Custom Care Nursing as a Support Worker and my role evolved into Regional Service Coordinator for the Gisborne / Bay of Plenty area.  To my surprise I was offered an opportunity to become a Coordinator, which I felt challenging at the start but the awesome support from Head office made this new experience easier.  I have enjoyed this new challenge in the Health Care industry and when I say challenge it certainly does come with some as no two people are the same! Communication is the key which is what I love about this role, I am in constant contact with both Clients and Support Workers in my region which makes this role rewarding and enjoyable.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my extended family/Whanau and friends.

Hello, my name is Maxine Sparks and I am the Regional Service Coordinator for Taranaki.

As a Registered Nurse I bring our beautiful region my expertise and experience in Maori Health, Aged Care Services, Intellectual Disability Services, Rehabilitation planning and support, and Maternity Services, to name a few.

As a Coordinator, my role is to ensure our Clients have the best support and care possible. I have a great team of experienced Support Workers whom I coordinate to ensure our Clients are receiving not only excellent service but that it is being delivered by someone who suits their lifestyle.

In this job I love meeting and working with the huge range of people whether it be our staff, our Clients or their families. I love seeing them all learn new things and I love seeing our short-term Clients regain their independence. I enjoy helping our long-term Clients maintain their independence and come up with new solutions to issues in their daily life.

I am also the secretary for the Taranaki Neonatal Trust and help organise and attend fundraising events. Our local trust is very active and provides support for families here in Taranaki.

When I am not at working I am running around after my 3 boys attending sports games and after school activities. I love gardening as well as baking, cooking, and trying out new recipes.

I have worked in the Health Care Industry for almost 10 years during this time I have worked in Mental Health supporting people to return to work in supported employment.

Since 2014, I have been working at Custom Care Nursing supporting Client’s returning to independence after an injury or maximising independence for a Client after a serious injury.

I am a Regional Service Coordinator covering the Central North Island- Waikato, through the Central Plateau down to Manawatu and back up to Hawke's Bay.

I enjoy working for Custom Care Nursing because we are an organisation that prides itself on providing the best support to our Clients.  Our Clients can contact their Coordinator who knows their circumstances directly if they need to anytime. This way of working provides a more personal liaison with our Clients and puts them at ease after they have been through a traumatic time.  I also have a great team of Support Staff throughout my  Region to provide cares to support our Clients on their journey of recovery.

In my spare time, I enjoy family and friends, time in my garden, weekends away.

My name is Helen Jefferies, I have been in the health sector for 40 plus years.

Trained as a nurse in a hospital setting, then transferred and worked out of a Psychiatric Unit, and assisted people with an Intellectual Disability move into the community, assisting and working beside them to achieve their goals of living in a community setting.

I started Woking with Custom Care Nursing 3 years ago in Christchurch as the South Island Coordinator.

I enjoy working and helping people recover from their injury and ensuring that they get all the help and assistance they require to make a full recovery. I like meeting different people from all walks of life and listening to their stories as they progress through their recovery.

Some of the Clients struggle at the start, trying to maintain their independence, and they are so grateful for the assistance that we can provide to take the some of the burden off them. They welcome the support of their SW when they arrive at their home to assist their recovery.

It is so rewarding to get such positive feedback from Clients as to the wonderful staff that have supported them through difficult times back to independence. They say that they could have done it without their support.

For my down time, I bred and show dogs. I enjoy competing in dog shows with my dogs, and I travel around the county to the dog shows. I have a large section, and I potter in the garden when time and weather permits. The dogs love to assist by removing plants that I have put in. When I am not looking of course.
