My nana and mum have worked in rest homes, and growing up I have seen how much of an impact they made to people’s lives and how much they appreciated their help. Everyone was treated like family and that made me realise I’d love to make a positive impact on people’s lives just like my mum and nana did.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to work for this amazing family orientated company. I am loving my new role as every day is different, I get to interact with different people across the whole of New Zealand. I like talking to our coordinators nationwide and figuring out ways to help make their day a bit easier so they can help provide the best service to their Clients while looking after their amazing Support Workers.
I am very family orientated. I love spending time with my family especially my niece and nephews.
I started out working with Custom Care Nursing as a Support Worker and my role evolved into Regional Service Coordinator for the Gisborne / Bay of Plenty area. To my surprise I was offered an opportunity to become a Coordinator, which I felt challenging at the start but the awesome support from Head office made this new experience easier. I have enjoyed this new challenge in the Health Care industry and when I say challenge it certainly does come with some as no two people are the same! Communication is the key which is what I love about this role, I am in constant contact with both Clients and Support Workers in my region which makes this role rewarding and enjoyable.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my extended family/Whanau and friends.
My role at Custom Care Nursing (CCN) is Regional Service Coordinator for the Wellington area. My Clients and staff are based from Foxton down to Wellington and over to Masterton.
I thoroughly enjoy my role at Custom Care nursing as it is important to have the Client’s needs met so they can remain in their own home in the community, regaining their independence for their day to day life. In my role I get to meet with Clients their Family/Whanau, and other primary healthcare agencies.
During my time away from CCN and before returning in May 2017 Dave and I were married. In my spare time I currently enjoy improving our rural property. Looking after my three grandchildren, one who I am caring for full time. I enjoy working in my garden and drives in our Mustang.
I started Woking with Custom Care Nursing 3 years ago in Christchurch as the South Island Coordinator.
I enjoy working and helping people recover from their injury and ensuring that they get all the help and assistance they require to make a full recovery. I like meeting different people from all walks of life and listening to their stories as they progress through their recovery.
Some of the Clients struggle at the start, trying to maintain their independence, and they are so grateful for the assistance that we can provide to take the some of the burden off them. They welcome the support of their SW when they arrive at their home to assist their recovery.
It is so rewarding to get such positive feedback from Clients as to the wonderful staff that have supported them through difficult times back to independence. They say that they could have done it without their support.
For my down time, I bred and show dogs. I enjoy competing in dog shows with my dogs, and I travel around the county to the dog shows. I have a large section, and I potter in the garden when time and weather permits. The dogs love to assist by removing plants that I have put in. When I am not looking of course.
